Day 5 workout tip: Use slow, steady, complete motions.
So many times I see people doing short, quick burst pushups. Muscles were designed with a range of motion for a reason. Use the entire range. Don’t throw the weight. Instead push or pull throughout the entire movement.

There are actually two camps in this debate

1. The camp that talks about certain muscles that relate to fast movement

2. The camp that talks about certain muscles that relates to slow and steady movements

The manner in which you work out is really your choice.  Fast, rapid muscle movement supposedly increases size faster.  I avoid it as I want to avoid the injury that could result.  This is especially true when doing heavier weights.  You are more likely to throw the weight and injure yourself.  Slow, steady movement has provided the best results for me.  Plus, I haven’t had any down time due to injury.  That’s something to think about as it is easier to maintain your routine than it is to start over.  You will lose ground and become depressed for having to regain areas you already built up.
